Antique Barnwood

Barnwood is weathered by wind, rain and sun over many years. Barnwood colors range from Gray/Silver-Gray, Brown and Faded Red. The gray shades may have a touch of brown, and similarly, the brown many have a touch of gray.

The shades of red will differ from barn to barn and also have different degrees of red and gray coloring dur to many different brands of paint used on different barns. We cannot guarantee the painted wood to be free of lead. For best results, arrange boards and coloring that is most pleasing to your eye. Faded Red Barnwood will require more effort on installation to achieve the same look it had on the original barn. Faded Red Barnwood may continue to fade over the years, depending on where and how you use it.

Conklin's will not be responsible for any expense to alter any barnwood color from which is sent. Each side of a barn will weather differently, depending on the elements and the barns' location. This affects the final coloring of the exterior. To add even more character, there may be some nails holes or stains. Barnwood is sold random width (6" to 12", sometimes wider; average 8" to 10") and random length (5' to 16' approximately) with straight edges just as they come from the barn. Expect some knots, knotholes or nail marks.

Barnwood Backs are full of rich patina hidden just under the surface. Brush or orbit sand the back to bring out the beauty hidden beneath. Backs are great for ceiling boards, walls, wainscoting and more. They have the same dimensions as barnwood, but may be as thin as 1/2". Please feel free to ask one of your staff for design help with your project.
